Too much of an entitlement attitude in my area-- why work and have a job if society will pay your rent/food/etc.?

I have lived in my present home, a modest 1915 2-bedroom, for the past 12 years; its present value being at least double what I paid for it.As may be apparent from the preceding, my interest is in older homes, having an aesthetic character generally not found in modern construction.

I found out on the appointment, that the house was a modern house in a rural area, which made it weird 3/3 about 2100sqft built in 2010.  

After recently spending several thousand dollars renovating a rental unit to what I thought was really nice, the new tenant asked if I would be willing to replace perfectly good sliding closet doors to newer, more modern ones.

Building code is also a challenge, as it seems to lag far behind our modern building products and practices.The dirt floor also poses a problem, as moisture vapor will be constantly coming up through. 

I'm guessing it's to add a more sleek and modern look and to also give the buyer the option to choose the hardware.

how many of your rental units do you rent for under market because you are giving back to the community are you letting some people live for free in your units as a charitable donation to society.? 

Believe it or not, Call of Duty isn’t going to help me reach my goals, and I spend most of the time I play the game complaining about how terrible the maps are, how bad the lag is (even though I am just bad at the game of course) and how much I miss Modern Warfare 2.
