I have visited several smaller states and seen sizable homelessness. 2) While the higher home prices have caused some level of homelessness, overwhelmingly bigger reasons are relatively warmer weather, state welfare system, mental health issues among the homeless and drug addiction. 3) Home prices are high in CA esp in/around large cities.

Downtown Everett is being improved quite a bit (I actually work on the water front) but all of our public services are down here...so there will always be a large number of homeless, recovering addicts, ect- because their resources are here.
