The house is the "right age" to be at the tail-end of aluminium wiring - which in and of itself is not bad provided it was properly installed and the correct switches, fixtures and receptacles were used (or the proper pig-tailing to copper was performed).

Try to get something real estate related, but if that isn't possible, get one that pays, and work your tail off to spend as little as you can, and save as much as you can.If you already have a job, get another one.
