Hello, first time homebuyer here looking to purchase a 2/1 in central Florida and want to know the feasibility /  complications of building an ADU for STR on and existing LTR property (local gov regulations aside).

If you're considering STR on your personal home, that means you probably have a home in a great spot - that's half the battle.

In my STR on Lake Superior I have a separate room for fish cleaning and a cutting board to do it outside in the summer. 

I would take a not so stron approach.  

Long term tenants followed by brief STR on Airbnb, then sale with great profit.

Investor here with a few SF rentals, my first duplex, and a couple of acres in the mountains I'm looking to build a STR on. 

I did claim the income for my STR on my 2021 taxes. 

Am I grandfathered in because my house was a STR on VRBO before the ordinance went in to effect?

To use str you need a track record- are the other rentals STR on a tax return?
