My vision is to self-fund a Non-profit organization in my home country (Dominican Republic) through Real estate Investments in the USA. 

Started at 33yo with a condo in the Dominican Republic, but I sold it 2 years later because of negative cash flow, and because I wanted to start the journey in the US.

We used a HELOC on a rental to construct a beach house in the Dominican Republic.

I owned a bar with an apartment in the Dominican Republic when I went to college and It was so frustrating to be so far away and have to rely on local boots on the ground to relay data (in fact the manager spent all my cash for the project on a gambling Christmas cocaine party, ended up in jail and my boat got stolen by some Haitians trying to migrate to Florida but thats a whole different story).

I've been doing the STR thing since 2016 (but my first one is in the Dominican Republic and has a property manager), my second one was purchased in 2020 that I've been managing myself.  

Tourism is booming in the Dominican Republic and some ares grow even more than the average.

Im wondering if anyone has tried to invest in Santiago, Dominican Republic or any other part of the island and how has it worked out for you.
