(Another Millennial) Just Quit my Job starting June

After reading all the posts lately I thought id'e throw my experience out there.

I told my boss I will be done in June... All I know is that I wanna start some kind of Biz.  I hope I get inspiration before then.

Reason for Leaving... Starting to lose my passion for the day Job

I think it is totally possible to leave your Job and do something your more passionate about in life and I would encourage others my age to pursue the same goal.

HOWEVER>>>  I would wait till you get the boat closer to the dock!!!

My personal Financial Position:

Own 12 rentals.   Rental income produces little bit less than I need to live on...   Bout $200 short.

We flip about 2 houses a year for the last 5 years normally so we could live on that income too I guess.

We have about 18 months of cash in savings

I have, for the last 8 years works about 20+ hours a week on my rental Biz on the side from my full time Job.

I have a bachelors Degree/Masters (whet to the cheapest schools Possible+worked full time = no debt)

What happens if i fail?    I guess I go get another Job...

If your a Millennial you can quit your Job and do work you love.   Just be smart about it...

And if any of you have good Biz Ideas please reach out...  I really am hunting Ideas.

Build the life you want!

@Joshua D. I can't count how many posts I have responded to where a millennial comes on BP complaining they hate their job and want to quit. Or they want to drop out of college. Same story almost every time, they have only a pipe dream.

The difference between you and them is:

- You have an education to fall back on

- You have cash in savings

- You have passive income through rentals

- You worked your @ss off for 8 years at rentals prior to quitting your day job

My message to you is good for you and go for it! As far as business ideas, the obvious choices would be property management or realtor, because they compliment your business. However, if those things don't interest you, then I would pick some type of internet based business to keep yourself geographically free. There are lots of options, but it mostly depends on your interests and skill set.

One question I have (as someone who has considered quitting my job) is what are you doing for health care? I know that can cost upwards of $1000/mo and is one of the biggest challenges for people without W2 jobs.
