For some investors, it wouldn't make sense to hold on to a property for 20 years, they simply like to add as much value as possible and get rid of it, and be in constant acquisition mode.Just like the stock market, you can play the game as a "trader", or as an actual investor, both ways you can make money, but then again, what is your strategy?

You can play the game a little bit by throwing a conversation number out there for the Borrower to chat with the First Mortgagee with say $4,500 or so and know that if you can get a payment of $3k net you did just fine.
