Does anyone have any information or resources that can help shed some light on Mount Pleasant, WI.

I have a client in Mount Pleasant whose house was built in 1990 and had polybutylene piping.

Battery only, so if you have hardwired detectors in the unit like I do, you keep those and mount one of these somewhere as an alerting device just to know if something is going on.

Have you called a duct cleaning company.. that would be my first thought,, and second is to put in a switch where each and every time the bathroom is used, the vent fan goes on, this can be wired at the switch,, also I've sprayed Kilz in vents where smokers have lived and this has been helpful.. also consider a stronger motor in the bathroom vent fan and make sure the exterior vent opening doesn't have a bird's nest in it.. and is opening and shutting properly. 

Now usually those kinds of things impact the electronics vs the motors, but its still possible.Before I accepted that I owed money to my tenant, I would make darn sure that hey werent just trying to get a new washer and dryer from me.

Fayetteville, Rocky Mount, and perhaps to a slightly lesser degree - Durham, all come to mind off the top of my head.I have seen people go in 'half-cocked' in these cities and lose.Like many areas of business, where there's risk - there's opportunity.

Only thing I do with air conditioners or roof top units is belts, motors, filters and the odd cleaning of an igniter.

Anyway if anyone's interested that'd be great, I'm in the Mount Sinai Port Jeff Station area but i would be willing tk travel.
