Compared to countries like Mexico and the Dominican Republic, real estate in Costa Rica is much more expensive and much less profitable.

You would be "safer" in Bradenton down to Sarasota, than in Destin because of the Hurricanes each year in the Gulf of Mexico.

Any insights into this type of asset class (specifically in Mexico), as well as investing in Tulum is greatly appreciated.

I bought a house in New Mexico with a real estate contract, paid the agreed price at the end fo the 2 year term, lived in the house 2 more years, sold it and made  $100K or 35% profit on the purchase price and 400% on my downpayment.

HQ in Dallas; Offices in most States, Canada and Mexico.

I still love the area and will continue to invest in it, but this is the biggest thing I have learned in doing business here and thought I would share for those who originate outside of Mexico.

Am I looking at a lot of vacancy outside of peak travel season in Mexico?
