I live in Chicago, and being a city guy I am interested in starting out by investing in smaller multi family dwellings (2, 3, 4 flats) doing minor rehab/repair work, maximizing rent potential, minimizing maintenance costs by managing the buildings and tenants myself, and holding on to them for a while and see what I can make of it.

There are a host of reasons to have other business stops near home that can maximize your rental mileage.Obviously it is better if you can qualify your home as your home office.

Hello everyone, im currently 21 years old and looking to own my first multifamily building by age 25.i need some advice on how/where to start, i have 25,000 for a downpayment, but i cant decide if that could be used more wisely for repairs/ maintance.i can use my VA loan and buy up to a 4 unit multifamily with no downpayment as long as 1 tenant is a veteran (myself) which would be more benificial to maximize cash flow??
