What loan options are there for buying a house on a large lot and then splitting up the lot into smaller lots?So far I found a local bank that will do it as an in-house traditional mortgage.

Stay away from a "temporary" program that says they will fund the rent for 4 months or 6 months....no matter how "profitable" they make it seem because once the money runs out and that tenant tells you they can't pay the rent you will have a HARD time evicting them....especially here in California.

Here are a couple thoughts:1) Lower monthly payment, building equity, possibility of rental income to further decrease your out of pocket expenses sounds like a win. 2) You may have tax planning opportunities depending on how you own the property and how your business is set up.3) Around here, there are a number of office buildings that have various psychologists and counselors in them.
