We just found out yesterday as well that the first brick house has 100% original oak hardwood flooring underneath the carpet, so that was great!

The problem is generally the soil underneath the foundation.If this area has bad soil, the house could easily have a bad foundation.

The previous, quick fix solution was to route the basement bathroom waste and the basement washer waste out via pipes to the exterior of the home onto the lawn, which was showing evidence of soil erosion due to this "solution".
