As long as it is in the ira, it will continue in its tax deferred status...you will not pay tax until you start making withdrawals (typically in retirement).In my opinion, purchasing SFR with an ira is not efficient, as in rental property.

Yeah and if the restaurant industry got rid of all those pesky mom and pop shops and every restaurant was like McDonalds or Applebees the dining customers would be so much better conditioned to accept mediocrity.I know you believe that as a landlord I owe my time and energy to the "charity" of the "Landlord community" to try and make it better.

If it produces more energy than it consumes then the building is Net positive - though Net Zero is too frequently used as a blanket term to cover both these cases.Ironically, Net Zero does not automatically imply higher energy efficiency - there are several examples of commercial buildings with large expanses of flat roofs (i.e. warehouse) which are net positive, despite the building itself being horribly inefficient.Building standards in North America are woefully outdated on matters of energy efficiency.
