The 4th property still has a cloud on title even though the plaintiff withdrew from the suit 6 months ago.  

Title companies do the same thing, i believe, then commit to insuring the title if they cannot find anything wrong...clouds on title.Realtor.com has all mls properties including lots and multifamily...not commercial.

It will do nothing more than cloud the title.  

Then if someone decides to chase Real Estate in addition to a family and full time job - how much time to spend with family.  

He says, "by legally recording the option contract, you put a "cloud" on the title and the owner will not be able to sell the property until it is cleared".  

If you use a notice of option, make sure it includes the date the option expires too as it can cloud title after it expires and you can have issues with that if you file it, like filing a false lien if you don't release it.
