I've lived here for a few years and have my own rental in the area - tons of development between RWJ, Johnson & Johnson World Headquarters, & Rutgers University, plus there's a direct train into Manhattan. 

Hey wondering if any of you can share some experiences of owning a condo that you STR in USVI.The feedback I've received from my broker is the following:"Unlike many places around the world, development here is different and more difficult.

Finding parking at the beach could be as difficult as finding it for a regular vehicle.The city has encouraged development.  

For the purchase of newly constructed properties, if the borrower has a relationship or business affiliation (any ownership interest, or employment) with the builder, developer, or seller of the property, Fannie Mae will only purchase mortgage loans secured by a principal residence.

Has a collapsed floor due to subpar construction from the developer, which is why they abandoned the property to begin with.

But, if one has enough time, development is eventual.

Developing strong relationships with lenders can lead to better terms and quicker approvals.

The development they've undergone since I started using it has made me a user for life!
