Of course when I initially bought them as a young CPT, I just figured I was “Adulting” and it’s was the next phase of growing up.  

They tend to attract people without kids, so are typically younger adults or elderly.

What do I care if the spouse is there is there or not as long as they aren't fighting loudly or destroying the place.Unless there is some law or regulation that states every adult "residing" in a residence must be on a lease, who cares?
