I wish I could say that I know whether they are legit or not but I do know that the mortgage broker who handled all of the paperwork told us it was a hard money loan.

This type of loan is particularly advantageous for investors who wish to leverage rental income without the need for employment verification. 

From the asset protection perspective having the debt on the rentals and owning your primary in FL has some advantages that many states do not offer wish my home state had this.
