Why is it that these kind of posts get such traction while when a newbie comes to BP and asks questions they get slammed for how dumb they are they are doing it wrong...

Might also try LinkedIn, FB, etc if you don't get enough traction here👍

. - Finally, I would say that if you do something that appeals to cause or mission of an investor, you can gain quicker traction.

I attend Traction and while they usually attract a larger group I also like Capitol REIA that meets in Fairfax, and CAZA meetup in Reston (hosted by Keller Williams realty).

I have been talking to investors but no traction, and then I get a call today from the broker.

High asset prices + 20% unemployment + no traction on the medical front = underwriting that is not even close to hitting target returns. 

The leads tend to be 2 to 3 years out from being able to buy  a home - usually bad credit and not enough money for a down payment.Post cards and flyers have a low pull through as well, so you have a spend a lot of money each month for a year or two to get any really traction. 

Currently reading The Go-giver, having just finished Traction and Rocket Fuel, with 40+ more on the list.
