My team and I are actively working on a hotel-to-multifamily conversion and growing our portfolio of value-add apartment properties.

I plan to simply get my permits and get the unit built.

The commercial office space is owned by my LLC.

My local municipality is changing ordinances to be far more restrictive, and I notice a number of houses up for sale that were STRs.  

I am not against LTR but would like a higher cash flow property since my wife and I are already in our early 40's.

However, my risk is lower as the 2 bed/1 bath apartment I am considering for this setup doesnt have any major appliances nor copper as it is a 1960's build.

My personal opinion is that, while shifting investments into real estate may be the right move for your situation, there is likely a lot of work to be done before you get to that step to avoid a potentially costly mistake. 

Hi my partner and I are interested in investing in a chalet at Tiger Run Resort in Breckenridge and I was wondering if anyone has any experiences with purchasing and renting them out as STR?
