The advantage of having an LLC is that it limits your financial exposure to what is contained in that LLC in the event of a lawsuit.

True, insurance is just as important.. but starting an LLC as an extra layer against exposure in the event of a disaster (lawsuit, taxes, negligence) does not hurt in the least and compared to insurance is an inexpensive tool you should value.
