People seam to be very self absorbed and self important which is not how it is anywhere else I have lived or visited outside of LA, but LA actually felt less like this due to the large amount of tourist in the mix that skewed the observation for sure.  

Hey Chris, I lived in Mexico City last year and all my friends are saying that Covid has hit hard and local economy in these tourist areas have tanked, and crime rate skyrocketed....please do your search on the local economy is still doing ok before investing. 

Rents are probably better in tourist areas.

The city is a small lake town with a ton of tourists. 

However, since most states are fully open with little to no Covid restrictions as of this year, demand has absolutely dropped, particularly outside of tourist areas.
