it's good to be in a business that provides one of the basic necessities of like...shelter.

What I don't get is when people buy insurance on an engagement ring or something that's not a necessity (apparantly these aren't covered by your homeowners, they cost a few hundred/year to insure separately)

This is regarding positions of deed of trust / mortgage recording: When the first mortgage is paid off, the HELOC would go to first position...then the refinance would by necessity be in second position, which is a weaker (riskier) position.

I don't own a rental property myself, my dad used too, but that was more from necessity.

Now some debts are considered jointly owed by both spouses, like medical care, and most life necessities, since spouses are supposed to take care of each other.

I can understand the necessity behind them in certain cases - but unfortunately the system is far too easy to abuse at this point.

I like buying necessities in life. 

sounds like (not saying this is the way it is) that while there is an auction, i'm sure there is language in the terms of the auction that will state something about the necessity for the minimum reserve price of the auction to be high enough to satisfy any existing recorded liens.No, the bank doesn't show up.
