I did that twice, in 2003-2005 in the Mission district and again 2014-15 in Bayview.

I am buying new in a developing area in mission right next to highway.  

I want to go on humanitarian missions with my wife and children and help my children learn to give and serve others. 

In the past we had a STR rental in one unit of a duplex and a LTR rental in the other unit of the duplex in Mission Beach during the school year (both units were STR over the summer). 

I love the mission behind this group.

(Mission accomplie) While teaching math classes, I always beat the drum of investing and financial literacy.  

Either way, im honestly over it and the city is on a mission.

Besides San Diego, I'd wondered if there would be newer investors who hadn't set aside reserves or just someone who had been aggressive and overextended and who would need to sell after not being able to handle the prolonged vacancy. 2 of our units (a single duplex in Mission Beach) are STR units managed with professional management that specializes in STR management.  

I chose a different course, worked for contractors, got a GC license at 23, worked for home flippers (not to mention did a bunch of traveling and some living in Mexico and mission trips), and now as a late bloomer am getting into flipping myself at 33 and now 34.

The occupancy requirement and lien are a policy designed to support our mission, not a jail sentence.
