Admittedly I do all the 'permitted' work & save a LOT & the oldest NG unit is 12 years, with the oldest electric 7 years, both have had no issues at all.In 2017 I replaced an 80gallon HW tank at our 1960's era 7unit with an AO Smith GT15-240 NG & have not had an issue or complaint of 'no hot water', once common with the old 80 gallon.
