I considered one exit strategy if this doesn’t work after a couple years, which would involve selling fractional shares of the unit while keeping half of them myself in hopes, the sale of the fractional shares would offset the existing mortgage and maybe put us in a winning position.

In my book, when you use questionable marketing practices and half-truths on a systematic basis, pretend that you have the interest of the buyer's at heart when in reality you get your pay from and therefore have your interests aligned with those of the developer (and only mention it in the small print that nobody sees because you legally have to), you can't be trusted on anything.Again, I hate to be the party pooper and I hope you'll do as well as you can but I think it not sharing this would be a disservice to the BP community.
