As far as gambling goes, I'd like to put myself in position to benefit from continually increasing rents, and not put myself on the other side of the table.

Even if you could, it's a big gamble.

For my career I have chosen accounting and have recently passed all 4 parts of the CPA exam.  

I agree, if anybody speculate in stocks long term thats gambling, Eliminating both fundamental and technical analysis and create cover calls generate cash flow.

I have finished two books on real estate investing, The Book on Investing In Real Estate with No (and Low) Money Down: Real Life Strategies for Investing in Real Estate Using Other People's Money and Hold.I would love to acquire (this word was chosen carefully) a multi-unit building to live in and rent.  

This would be a gamble, but probably the cost of maintenance will be a drop in the bucket in comparison to new AC units.

I also filled their position of IT technician until my decision to join the military in 2010 to get some life experience and save up some capital.I'm getting towards the end of my enlistment and am looking forward to getting back to business, and Real Estate is my chosen vehicle. 

Casinos tend to be very self-sufficient since people go there to gamble, drink, and spend the night.

But I cant gamble like that so I am acting as though that wont happen.
