I am surprised (sadly, not really) that your real estate agent did not advise you of the situation).

I'm very surprised that a house purchased in 2010 isn't fetching a pretty penny more in 2017.

If they are buying land or spending a lot on expansion, an overall loss while doing that isn't surprising.

Don't be surprised if you have to call every bank in the area.  

Don't be surprised if you call 200 banks...that's not an exaggeration.Investor Networks - it certainly sounds like a "mentor" might be needed in your furture.  

Additionally, you will be surprised by the amount of heat a hot water tank generates in a small space.

Now, she was surprised by the fee, but we showed it was in her lease and she paid it last month.

I see this is a pretty old post, so it's not surprising that the survey is closed now.

I will warn you, (our target houses are under $20K), those houses come with surprises, it's not cheap because it's a wonderful deal, it's cheap because it NEEDS A TON of work, and they know the price has to reflect the amount of work needed.
