The issue with elected officials and sports types is that they are more prone to vandalism, sometimes attacks.Usually, for lesser expensive dwellings, a sufficient notice and disclaimer concening their belongings, etc. are not covered and if they desire coverage they must obtain tenants coverage.

If the dog isn't tearing the place up, there was a way for me to access the front or back door without going through the dog and I didn't have any legal documents proving the dog couldn't be there, I'd probably just make sure I had the umbrella coverage from Lloydes (I use Lloydes myself), and then forget about it.

If your insurance coverage is high enough, lawyers won't bother going after personal assets because it tends to draw things out.

The tenant should be getting renter's insurance, and they should be getting coverage for the dog with that; you would be named as an additional insured.
