The city of Chicago has made a huge push to get rid of any lead service lines, so it's no surprise you have to mess with that.   

I've had a couple OOS investors ask about ADU potential in our market... not sure what hurdles there might be with the city (permitting, zoning, or otherwise).

.#1 I would call the city rentals department directly and ask if the seller's license will remain active until the day yours becomes active.

Like @Collin Hays said, it is being driven more by neighbors tired of poor STR owners not keeping things sorted.We only look for places in vacation areas with a long history of owner driven STRs vs big cities and the like.

Hi Devin, yes my company does contracting work and we also work with the City of Birmingham on many projects..

Many purchase deals in the city/county of Los Angeles are still going through already.

If not you might be stuck with the work and the commitment to doing it since the city would be the ruling party.
