Some advice:If you are going to live there make sure you spend a lot of time down there first if you haven't already.Bank financing is impossible for non residents/citizens. 

Is there part of this forum I'm missing or can someone point me to some good resources about general info (best way to find property, are some countries better than others for US citizens to buy, etc.).
