While we don't have (yet) the burial sites, we have a unique collection of 60's hippies that (still) love communism, and hate tech, progress (no idea why they are called "progressive") and success (especially landlord and real estate success roils their blood :) Add to that an extremely incompetent Bored of Stupidvisors which has a nack for passing local rent control legislation that gets ruled unconstitutional in superior court.

If your tenant is at fault for unintentional damage to your property (overflows a bathtub, leaves a candle burning while out for the evening and burns the house down), you can "run" to their coverage first and potentially avoid having to file a claim with your carrier.

The Agent's see it as only a small renters policy, but when he informed me about that I explained over nintey percent of them drive and some will be future homeowners and his eyes lit up like a roman candle on the fourth of July.

Detroit is doing much better than it was and they should be optimistic but people are hardly fleeing Chicage for Detroit in droves.Detroit as a city can not hold a candle to Chicago in any way shape or form.
