I have a question that is probably relevant to many possibly looking at moving out of NY, if a person moves in June from NYC to escape the gigantic tax burden, do they pay taxes on the time period they were there or (from Jan to June) or because they were not there for 180 days can they claim residency in another state and not pay taxes in NY?
