Hi BP, I was just recently driving through Maine on my way to a pond hockey tournament and my wheels started spinning thanks to my involvement with this amazing website.

There's a hotel shortage right now in Indy which is helpful for STR's with events like Big Ten Championship, NCAA Tournaments, Convention Season and the Indianapolis 500, but there is a huge push for building more hotel accommodations downtown right now, so STR's in Indy might not be a great long-term solution. 

Another thought when looking at a place is proximity to fishing tournaments.

I have some guys in a fishing club and when they come to town for a fishing tournament they send me a check.

I mean it’s not a high tourist destination except for TPC golf tournament. 

Both are seeing dramatic growth in bookings and sports events/tournaments and being nearby can certainly help keep you booked.Meetups -- sadly no.

The only way to know is to cut bait and get out there, going out your first time just realize you probably won't win any tournament and bring home the trophy.

Joking, but really, I would be happy to pick your brain out on the boat, I just missed the big money in the King of The Beach Kingfish tournament the other day. 32lbs!
