It's the old proverbial "Nigerian Prince" with multi~millions to invest overseas, and "YOU" have been chosen.

As an example, if my home owner was "john smith" the Nigerian scammer would snag "johnsmith at yahoo.com"The scam was that "john smith" was currently working as a missionary in Nigeria. 

I'd probably sound like a Nigerian Prince promising to give him money.

. - HOWEVER watch out for scams such as the nigerian check scam or people trying to pay you rent without even seeing the place.
