This is really an accountant question as to how you can structure to use your RRSP's as an investment with it still being arm's length away so that you do not get taxed on it until it is used for the purchase at the end of the rent to own period.Best Wishes

I would so similar, say we have had it inspected but if you wish to engage a structural engineer at your expense which will run $2k-$5k you can, and if they find the home uninhabitable we will pay but only in cases where the home is deemed uninhabitable and condemned by the city.

This gives you greater than the potential upside you believe is out there in syndications and you own a slice of the company, have access to all of the information publicly traded companies are required to disclose and can sell your stock at any time you wish should you need access to your capital. 

But my initial work would involve making sure I knew exactly what my rights were and how I could legally assert them.I wish you the best of luck getting this bus out of the ditch it's in.
