I imagine the area research would be some type of internet information but I also imagine the research on the turnkey companies will not be so straight forward.Most the folks who replied here sell turnkeys not that is a horrible thing but we can understand you wanted to cut through the fluff mostly.

What irritates me about this kind of thing is that it takes these homes off the market from people with no intention of buying, gives real estate investors a horrible name, ruins trust and credibility for the seller with dealing with anyone in the future, and makes a huge amount of headaches for those people out there really trying to do it right.

I think I understand the compassion and understanding here for someone who is being entrepreneurial and thinking in new ways to make extra money, but let's change the context and see how many folks still think this tenant would be a good business partner: What some folks are essentially suggesting is that they would be wiling to partner with someone who is knowingly violating a rental/lease agreement, and deliberately lying to at least two parties (the owner and AirBnB) for her own personal gain, which puts the owner at a significant risk (he doesn't just get to walk away if it all goes horribly wrong, etc.)

My taxes come second and electric third, then heating oil. ( I Didn't count groceries simply b/c we never do when looking at investment numbers :) )So from a SFR standpoint my community is horrible for SFR investment.

I have seen one here for $147,500 in which three are rented out and the fourth is kinda crappy but not horrible.
