I feel this way for several reasons:There are still dope addicts and homeless wondering the streets day and nightCrime is still high relative to other neighborhoods adjacent to downtownThe infrastructure is terrible.

Personally the gunshots and homeless people in Rainier Valley reminded me of the Bar scene from Start Wars.

Its a upcoming neighborhood went historical BUT this house was next to an alley where it has non stop traffic of homeless people always trying to break in the house.

Would contacting the city and letting them know about the homeless camp in the vacant lot help? 

Also, I have worked at a government housing authority as an accountant, and at a homeless shelter. 

We now have huge numbers of people that are homeless in small town America, unable to rent because they no longer have credit and have evictions on their record. 

These people are already out of work due to no fault of their own, making them homeless will destroy any bit of normal life they have left.

Last Christmas we were in the middle of working a deal and he and his partner took their 12 y/o sons out to hand out jackets to the homeless.

I'm guessing in some cities an area can be dirty with homeless but with high prices and high rents (Like in some areas in Los Angeles).

I think about where I came from before landing here, being a wannabee myself for 15+ years, then losing it all, becoming homeless, being in debt, and then deciding to make some crazy goals, as I saw others get a leg up, and just go for it!
