I wondered what happened to their insurance money and if this situation was a scam.  

Thankfully you recognize the scam these knuckleheads try to put over on investors.

And yes, as I said the guidelines do, unfortunately allow a lot of leeway for the dishonest to scam someone.

I have sat through a couple of the free GURU programs over the years, but knew they were scams as soon as I got there, so luckily have never paid them any money, but I just didn't know how else to go about it. 

Don't be fooled by the scam, folks.

Mutual funds are scams but that is the subject of a hole different rant.As for your real estate investments.  

If it is not mls and low it can be a scam.

They even went so far as to get top ranked spots in google with "Peter Conti Scam" or "Quick Flip Money Machine Scam" which brings you to their own page with someone telling you that they don't think it's a scam.

I've read this article on the OC Register regarding an investor who would Quitclaim Deed a house with or without the actual seller deeding the property to him.

How is he getting away with this?
