The 2 units I currently own are in the same complex, and they have always been rent friendly.

Now that they have 80% ownership of the complex it'll be interesting to see what appraisals come in at.

In one of the condo complexes I own in, the gentleman above me charges ~$100/night more than the rest of the competition and he gets fewer bookings.

On a separate note, in this coming year I'm going to be experimenting with using my primary residence as an STR, but I expect that to be significantly more complex than my STR investment properties.  

I would get referrals from investors you trust, have a clear scope of investment for your project first.Price is dependent on your deal complexity/size.
