This is not enormous amount but the city said if the attorney asked about it, we would be able to press the seller to pay for it. 

If you were in Boston for instance, duplexes are plentiful, and in some parts FHA would be ok....while in other neighborhoods there you couldn't get FHA accepted In DC, you would be very hard pressed to find a duplex, and if you did it would be extremely hard to use FHA financing on it.So the question here is between you and your agent, one person is wrong and one is right.

You will be hard pressed to find a broker in the area that gives you an ok on wholesaling, since it is in essence a net listing, which is illegal for an agent to do.

Wish we could have bought more properties but we were pressed for time trying to do a 1031 exchange.

Also as others on here can confirm, in southern Ontario you will be hard pressed to find too many houses for 250k.
