I know that repair value (barring the inevitable unknowns) can be influenced by condition of the home and property, area similarities (meaning, if your comps have granite counters, then your flip needs to have granite counters), and budget.But, what do I really need to know?  

Every week number of properties popped-up in MLS on Thursday/Friday ~250 or so and on Sunday Pending bar goes up till ~220.

I think the bank idea is way over used by gurus and bar stool folks trying to talk loud.

Well, a few comments, not a book this time.Risks can come in various masks, borrower takes bankruptcy, the sale was flawed or originated improperly which can be missed, court tosses it out or does a cram down, reducing principal and the court may bar any deficiency.

The highest yield possible, bar none of any strategy, is to buy a note at a discount and refinance it days latter receiving the UPB or close to it, they yield skyrockets!

I'm not even sure how they ever passed the low bar of occupancy inspection they were that bad.  

So I'd say that they are out 1st month barring a minor miracle.
