Sounds like a lot of listings that come up in my search....I called about showing instructions on one last week and the listing agent just said the front door was open because everything worth stealing had already been stolen.

If I tell him I will report the air conditioners as stolen, he might act - he has a fairly substantial criminal record.

Nothing was stolen, there is just a lot of property damage (holes in sheetrock, over-flowing toilet, and lots of trash).

I would like to try the open house approach, but worry about things getting stolen with multiple people walking through at the same time...Kelly

We had a vacant house for about 6 weeks between tenants, and it finally got hit - all the copper stolen.

@Andrey Y.Put on a construction vest and tell them the owner sent you by to give them an estimate on repairs (stolen from a recent podcast).

It's likely that HVAC equipment, wiring and any copper would be stolen for scrap and the property would be vandalized, set on fire, and/or demolished.
