Hello BP,I've been looking at small multi-family investment properties and run into several early 1900's homes that have been converted into duplex/triplex or fourplex rentals. 

@Hank Hebel,If you inherited an IRA from your spouse - it can be converted into your own IRA, with your name on it.An IRA inherited from anyone other than your spouse would have to be "Inherited IRA", it will have the deceased name as the account holder and you as the beneficiary will control it. 

How would the numbers look if you converted the home to a rental? 

Hello, I'm looking to purchase a home that's currently a 5,600 SF SFH, it was converted from a 5 family years ago when the daughter inherited it and wasn't interested in being a landlord.

There is a default clause in the note purchase as well that converts legal and financial responsibility back to me if you default within 3 months after the sale of the note. 

I am trying to buy a triplex ( which im going to convert back to a duplex) and behind this triplex is a single family home (for 50 k cash and I am going to fix up). 

It was originally a home, that was converted into a triplex.

My goal is to convert all of my units to government program funded, so this might not make sense since it seems as though most government programs require that the landlord pay all utilities anyway.3.

The previous lease converted to a month-to-month and it transfers with the sale of the property.

Over the last 2 months we have renovated all three SFRs and turned two of them into 3 bedrooms by converting dining rooms into bedrooms.
