Laminate is easy to take up unlike tile and old vinyl (especially really old vinyl) and most contractors won't charge much at all for the demo (maybe $100-300) to remove it.

Replacing a broken floor tile is a repair, replacing the entire floor (while preserving the original value) adds life to the flooring as it's entirely new.
