You don't want to go cheap on the furnishings or décor!

Delegate, hire someone to help you get it furnished and decorated.

We plan on making a trip to meet them to setup and decorate.Over this Labor Day weekend, we rented a small Penske truck and delivered an assortment of supplies we've been accumulating for the house (decorations, smaller pieces of furniture, dining chairs we bought locally, a dining table we built, etc). 

We have Floor & Decor stores here (CA) which are great, but you may something similar.

The pictures look great, the house is decorated with today's trends in mind. 

Around here, people looking at older homes expect a more traditional decor.

I've always loved designing and decorating, so it only feels natural to go to school for it.

Some things can be done cheap -- dollar store for small kitchen items, for example -- but the extra $ for couch, dining table, art/decor, etc makes all the difference. 

Our biggest lessons are: 1) decorate for the type of guest you want to stay in your place.

Really, I'd like the house to be an airbnb, so that: we don't have a full time neighbor that close, I can have a project (I enjoy decorating, cleaning and meeting new people), and so that I can have the freedom to use it as a guest house for friends and family visiting.
