I came to the conclusion that it had to be a scam, but I never contacted a realtor or drove up to see it.  

It promises real leads but I want to know if it's just another scam or does it actually bring you leads.

It will work if you are one heck of a salesman or are willing to devote years to getting there.  

I turned him down, not because I refuse to mentor folks, but because I'm already engaged in doing so and I don't have time allotted outside of that to properly take on someone else.So making clear the time that you want to devote to learning, type of communication expected would help someone formulate how to fit it into their schedule.

People will "suffer" a while in their young days to (hopefully) prosper later (since they've bought into the "get an education, get a good job, work hard for 40 years and try to survive on your savings and investments when you retire" bull cookies - the "40-40-40 scam").

There are some scam bots scraping cell numbers on craigslist.

Can devote to 15 hrs a week as a start !

@Ryan Ahlgrim - I know this is an old post, but in case anyone else reads it, this is a scam; people copy legit for rent listings, and post them "for sale" with a much lower rent price, and with different contact info, hoping for people to contact them and send them a deposit.

Please dont put down fees to "buy into the deal", 99% of the time the deal is that you just got scammed and lost $6500.
