Don't give these people your cell ; use Google voice.      2a. since your in Chicago, be aware of Chicago landlord tenant ordinance and that in Cook county you can't discriminate against section 8.  2b.

Some just answer the phone "hello" as it appears things are forwarded to their cell or something.    

Main things I look for are recent late payments on car loans, and collections relating to utility/cell phone bills.
