@Emily ShinHouse hacking a multi-family property is an excellent way to start investing in real estate, especially in a market like Columbus, Ohio, which offers affordability and growth potential.

I understand they may do up to 30% actual real estate, mfh mainly.That is a higher risk IMO, especially in this market. 

As a GA native and investor, I love Savannah, but I haven't invested there yet, partially because y'all are so dominant in the market :) I would caution, however, that there is "no way to do background checks".

As someone who occasionally works with these investors, I always try to emphasize the challenges that come with real estate like managing renovations, dealing with tenants, and navigating market fluctuations.

What market?

It would be a good idea to assess your tolerance to risk and then plan something like that, but using a heloc is going to be around 9-11% in this market so to pay something off with lower interest rate to borrow more might not make much sense.

I believe that is safe to say for most markets in the US regarding either SFH or MF.

There are many factors, as with any real estate market:(1) Location. 

It turned out well but a great market also helped with that.  

However; the real estate market here hasn't stopped at all, and it's blazing.
