MikeGreat advice from Curt above,A few big cons IMO are: currency (For example the Aussie $ was $1.20 no too long ago and now its $0.80 on the USD), bank account set up (Patriot act issues) and delays with paperwork due to time zone differences.Pros, well that's easy lolGreat value, great net returns and although it mind sound corny its a once in a lifetime opportunity IMO.I definitely wouldn't be freezing my a.. in Ohio if I didn't believe this to be the case.Its summer and surfs up in Sydney hahahaThanks

The US is 23 trillion in debt (on balance sheet), we are the largest debtor nation in the history of the world, the US has a wildly inflated standard of living because of the USD status as world reserve currency, the stock market is at nose bleed levels, and the bond market has 15 trillion in NEGATIVE yielding debt.

I did lend money in Canada as a HML and that worked out.. as not only did I make my return I made a very nice delta on the exchange rate arbitrage IE when I made the loans the Loonie was quite low when I got paid off the loonie had jumped 10%.. but I am not an expert or a currency trader .. just a little one man HML er.. picking nice little loans in the Okanogan. but what I did not realize also in Canada the default process is not where as friendly as the US.. ergo being the bank in Canada you take on some risk that is not present as a US lender on US assets.
