Even with aluminum wiring most people I know just work with it rather than rip all of it out.

After considering that I needed to deliver the panes to the glass company (then pick up after 2-3 days), and that the aluminum runners and opening 'action' were not great in most of the wood frame windows, we made the decision to just do a new vinyl window replacement.I did the install, which is pretty easy if you've measured correctly.

I've never done business there but I hear its a different beast than here in Southeastern Wisconsin just because the populations density is so different.  

In Queens I started to see properties in the south to south eastern part of the borough that look promising. 

I live in the Hampton Roads/Tidewater area of Southeastern Virginia specifically Virginia Beach, VA.

I'll jump in on this thread (even if it's necro), and say that I'd like a Tri-Cities sub or even a "South-Eastern WA" sub to swallow up everything from Walla Walla to Yakima to Moses Lake.

Aluminum wiring and plumbing pipe material would be 2 huge potential money pits...

An almost identical home across the street is for sale for $115k and comps that have already had the aluminum wiring replaced are selling for $130-$140k with the same sq ft
